It felt like there was something missing.
Something wasn't right
I wasn't complete
When I walked past crowds, saw the faces of others, they seemed distant.
Or was it me, who was distant?
But then the snow fell
White blanketed the city
The hollowness inside me, it began to resonate
In the white of the snow
In the muffled crunch of my footsteps
In the city silenced by the cold
I heard a heart
And I felt the whisper of a soul
Just a taste of such familiarity
It was so compelling
I fell
To my knees
And wept
That was when I realised
What I was missing
Where I was broken
It was you
You
All along
The frost seeped through my gloves
And I remembe
In the wanderer's final hours
They whispered but a single
Impossible
Broken wish
Their prayer which was filled with such hope
It sprouted wings
And ascended to the ash-like sky
For the Earth to be heard
"Let my love breathe life"
